What are the odds the home favorite goes home? Maybe Murphy's Law with a 180 degree change in frequency.

The Mexican Grand Prix was filled with positive vibes and excitement in perfect relation to the hype built for this astounding event, and in an instant, hearts were shattered. As Garth Stein states, "No race has ever been won in the first corner but plenty of races have been lost there”, is the statement no one wants to experience, especially if you are the favorite in the hosted country.

Sergio Perez, Checo, the home favorite was out of the race at the first corner, which has broken the hearts of fans so dearly that some even began leaving the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez circuit before the end of the race. That is a statement of the passion Formula 1 has enticed in the motorsporting world. This could have happened at any of the other 22 Grand Prix events, but it happened here, where it hurts the most. When it rains it pours.

Even the weather in South Africa is cold and gloomy on this almost summer Monday, right after a warm Sunday celebrating our Rugby World Cup Victory. A celebration of this extent was deserved for Mexico too.

The only thing I can take from this turn of events is that life has these moments for almost every being, and to have it showcased on the world stage helps us understand we are not alone and can be proud of surviving through it.
